Step 1

Cover bulletin board with Cotton Candy Cloud Fadeless® Paper. To do this, first cut enough paper to cover the board. Find the center of the paper you’ve cut. Roll in edges in and secure at the bottom of the rolls with binder clips. Start securing the paper to the board by stapling at the top center. Roll the paper out to the left or right, stapling as you go.

Step 2

Roll out the remainder of the paper to the other side stapling across the top. Then staple down the sides and bottom, smoothing the paper as you go along. Cut off excess paper around edges.

Step 3

Tape the Azure Bordette ® Decorative Border around the edges of the bulletin board with the scalloped side facing inward. Repeat using the Pink Bordette ® Decorative Border , with the scallop facing outward and slightly overlapping, so that both colors can be seen.

Step 4

Print the ice cream cones, scoops, and “Math is Sweet” phrase on various shades of the Tru-Ray ® construction paper. Pick colors from each construction paper collection that correspond to your favorite ice cream flavors and cones. Cut out each component. Cut out additional shapes to write math symbols on, they could be red circles resembling cherries, or a variety of colors/shapes to resemble sprinkles.

Step 5

Fill in a math problem of your choice for each cone with a Prang ® Washable Marker: write a number on each scoop of ice cream, and a math symbol on a seperate construction paper dot. Stack two scoops (or more) on each cone. The cones. You can write the solution on the cone right away, or you can do this with your students later.

Step 6

Attach the cones and phrase to the board with either staples or double-sided tape. Be sure to keep the correct scoops and cones together.
